Under the federal No Child Left Behind law, this school will be offering school choice for the 2015-16 school year. This is required by NCLB of schools “in need of improvement.” Click the headline for more information and to download a School Choice request form. All forms are due no later than July 1. Late forms will not be accepted.
Iowa Public Television created a “library corner” in the River Woods Elementary School cafeteria, and hosted families for a fun evening, showing them PBS apps that help make anytime a learning time. The library corner will serve as an area for students to gather and share their love of reading. To see more photos, click on the image.
DMPS will again offer breakfast and lunch over the summer months to children 18 and younger. The number of sites has grown, and so have the number of meals served. Last summer, DMPS staff fed children 28,722 breakfasts and 79,698 lunches. DMPS has sponsored a summer meal program for more than 30 years.
