As a Title I school, our students may qualify for tutoring services at no cost to their family. To be eligible, students must also be approved for free/reduced-price lunch, and not have received tutoring services during the first semester of this school year. It’s been more than 25 years since DMPS made comprehensive changes to elementary school attendance areas. A lot changes in a quarter of a century, and to better serve students and meet the needs of schools the district is considering new attendance areas for many elementary schools. 5th grade students in Mr. Poole’s class recently completed a science unit on the human body. During the unit students worked with bone diagrams and skeletal models, and conducted experiments to learn about opposable thumbs and saddle joints. The final activity included dissecting owl pellets…very interesting (and kind of gross!)
