First Graders Learn About Apples

Mrs. Brandt’s first grade class learned about apples last week. They read the book Apples by Gail  Gibbons and discussed the main idea and details that they learned. The students then got the chance to make applesauce. They started off by making predictions about what ingredients they might need to make applesauce. Next, each student had the chance to help peel and break apart the apples into chunks. Last, they combined all of the ingredients into a crockpot to cook. Then the best part was eating their applesauce!
