Make sure to stop by the Scholastic Book Fair in the multipurpose room during conferences. The book fair will be open on Tuesday from 4-7, Wednesday 2:30-4:30, and Thursday 4-7:30.
A small group of 4th and 5th graders and Mr. Carrico, the art teacher, painted a city snow plow this year for the cities Annual Snowplow Painting Contest.
Students who attend a Title I school in Des Moines like River Woods may be eligible for tutoring services at no cost to their family. Under the federal No Child Left Behind law, this school will be offering school choice for the 2015-16 school year. This is required by NCLB of schools “in need of improvement.” Click the headline for more information and to download a School Choice request form. All forms are due no later than July 1. Late forms will not be accepted.
Iowa Public Television created a “library corner” in the River Woods Elementary School cafeteria, and hosted families for a fun evening, showing them PBS apps that help make anytime a learning time.
